The Challenge

TapFlow wanted to validate a peer-to-peer micro-lending concept for gig workers. The team had three different value proposition hypotheses but no way to quickly test them with real audiences. Traditional landing page builders required too much design work. Running email campaigns meant stitching together Mailchimp, Carrd, and Google Analytics โ€” a fragile, time-consuming setup.

The founders needed to move fast. They had a 2-week window before a pitch event with YC alumni investors, and they wanted data โ€” not opinions โ€” to back their story.

The Solution

They drove traffic from three sources: targeted Reddit posts in r/gigeconomy and r/freelance, a Twitter thread from Priya's personal account (800 followers at the time), and $200 in Meta ads targeting Uber and DoorDash drivers.

The Results

Within 11 days, TapFlow had 2,400 waitlist signups. The "Get paid today" angle converted at 18% โ€” more than double the other two variants. The referral engine added 30% organic growth on top of paid traffic.

The email sequence (5 emails over 14 days) achieved a 38% open rate and 12% click rate, both well above industry benchmarks.
